Cat Abandoned Outside In The Sun In His Carrier

One morning while out strolling, a guy noticed a cat sitting in his carrier in the middle of the pavement, surrounded by all of his possessions.

The cat, subsequently identified as Marcus by rescuers, was meowing as the man approached, and it was evident that the unfortunate creature had been abandoned not long before. While the guy was studying Marcus, he heard someone dropping something else, and when he glanced up, he saw a man walking away from a cat tree.

It was a hot day outside, and the guy realized he couldn’t leave Marcus alone, so he phoned Celia Hammond Animal Trust to ask if they could take him in.

“Because he needed to get to work, we arranged for the guy to take the train to Canning Town, and one of our rescue workers met him there to retrieve Marcus,” Celia Hammond, of Celia Hammond Animal Trust, told The Dodo.

Marcus’s discoverer wanted to keep him as his own, but he lives in a building that doesn’t allow pets, so he couldn’t — but he wants to see him after he’s adopted.

Marcus’s rescuers screened for a microchip and discovered his identity as soon as he arrived at Celia Hammond Animal Trust. Despite being left out in the heat, the huge, fluffy cat appeared to be doing well and was extremely fortunate to have been discovered at all.

Marcus’s previous owner decided he no longer wanted him for whatever reason, but now that he is in the hands of a rescue, he will hopefully find a loving new forever home very soon.
